兄妹交配、リッターサイズは C3H 系統と変わらず 5 匹程度。
This congenic strain was established by the integration of a MSY-derived genomic region from chromosome 11 into a C3H/HeNCrj genetic background. The integrated genomic region involves a QTL, Nidd1n, for glucose tolerance, which was identified using genetic mapping in the NSY strain (a mouse model for type 2 diabetes) and C3H as a control. This congenic strain (Nidd1nR2B) was produced by backcrossing of the region between D11Mit314 to D11Mit279 of NSY onto the C3H.
2005年、 小林美里先生、 池上博司先生、 大阪大学大学院医学系研究科 Nidd1n.R2 コンジェニック系統を C3H に戻し交配し、 R2 ラインの NSY 領域を短くした D11Mit314-D11Mit279 の領域のみ NSY 由来の R2 のサブコンジェニック系統 （Nidd1n R2B）。
